emissions and price / availability.... same reason every manufactuer changes engines.

Look at the amount of diesel focus's about and the fact there are no major horror stories with them besides usual wear & tear.. No DPF and no dual mass makes for cheaper maintenance.
I also like how the only people here with ACTUAL experience of these engines support them. piggy dum and welshy just hate anything thats non peugeot lol
