The aftermarket (standard still) exhaust on mine was as small as 1.8/1.9 inches in diameter in some places. Hopefully that makes more sense.
Very much agree with this, the backbox on my estate was a pattern part, the crush bends were bad, but worse was the 'neck' they'd crimped into the pipe were it's welded to the can -it was tiny, 1.5" tiny, the whole exhaust getting pushed through that.
As for most cars on here being 2.5-3" ? I very much doubt that. the % of people that go for a complete turbo back exhaust is pretty slim.
