If you want to upgrade them to a better oil then a good 10w or so multigrade shock oil will make them more consistant with temperature - RSF in 7.5 or 10wt is usually a good choice - ATF is a little too thin for a Koni and tends to have a pretty poor VI.
If you're using mineral/semi synth oils that you already have, fork oil is probably better as it's less likely to foam, but expect it to fade under hard use.

cheers for the input, I've got some PJ1 10wt fork oil so I'll give that a try
