Newbie, XUD ph1 bosch&t2

Hi. Newbie here with a pug306 phase1, XUD and T2.

I have been reading up for a week or two on tuning and this afternoon I have begun to have a little play. Could someone pls confirm/advise if I am thinking along the right lines?

I tweaked the max fuel screw until I had acceptable smoke on boost and adjusted the waste gate on the turbo before going for a spin. My boost gauge read 19-20 psi and the dash threw up a STOP light with red light on temp display and oil light on.

I pulled over switched off and restarted and all good. Took it easy going home and felt the need to back off the tuning a bit so I reduced max fuel a tad. Hopped back in for a spin and got 17-18 psi and no dash lights.

Does it sound as though I was pushing the limits at 19-20? would it have been better to reduce boost via Turbo rather than max fuel? I have no additional intercooler cooling as yet but will do before I up the boost again.

Something else just occurred to me as I was driving home and dash lights came on again....temp gauge has never read over 90 and car seems to be running fine, dash lights were flickering and fading on and off and I did jet wash the engine bay at weekend so could well be elec/display issue with dash?...

I am planning to reduce boost via waste gate on turbo at weekend.
