Are you just using online comparison sites?
They're only good to get you a 'guide' price, often you can shave another £80-120 off those (from my experience anyhow)

Whichever 2 are cheapest from that lot play them off against each other. It's frustrating and involves repeating yourself over and over again but it's well worth it if money is at stake.
One trick I also found is that I have to pay monthly due to not being a rich bitch. They'll give you a price over the phone for an annual policy in one hit. Ask the other company if they can match the cheapest price by means of a monthly payment setup. It does work, trust me.
It's all bullshit anyway. Just be totally honest before you pull the trigger cos most companies will charge a hefty cancellation fee if you've missed something critical.
