What you have to remember is the helmet paint is part of its strength let alone solvents weakening it more. Effectively you have a helmet worse than a bike one now.

You wouldn't use a seat belt latched together with cable ties would you, effectively that what you will be doing wearing this helmit. Most of us here are tryjng to help you be safe as possible, if you think that is a bad thing then thats up to you.
