I'm sure I've heard it's just as bad to declare mods not on your car as to leave things undeclared. Thinking about it, I'm assuming it would be for fraud prevention, as you can say the car got nicked after putting £1,200 of alloys or whatever on it...

Tbh, the last time I declared something AFTER doing it, the insurers changed thier mind about the mod....as it wasn't easily removable it ended up being undeclared, so I thought I'd be better declaring in advance, maybe not though.
