My Dimma has no abs and I've only ever locked it up twice in 3 years of owning it
I was telling the op if he doesn't have abs and fits a beam with no compensator there is a good chance the rears will lock up. Under hard breaking eg emergency stops. Not normal driveing. My old car was a phase1 1.6 no abs and I fitted a beam off a hdi and didn't fit a compensator hence the rears locking up.
As you say the phase3 doesn't need a compensator as the abs pump is different but being a phase 2 it will need the abs and a compensator to work as it should. Granted half the time the compensater is seized any way lol
