Faulty lift pump?
#1
some of you might know about my prized collection of fault codes, while thanks to some new engine sensors and help from Poodle Angel the EML which has plauged me since purchase has gone but one little gremlin remains.

Sometimes when turning ignition to second click the eml doesn't turn on at all, the two underneath turn on and off fine and I don't hear the whine sound from the lift pump. If I then try and start the engine it'll just crank over and I'll look like a tit in the petrol station!!!

Ahem..

Other times the eml light will come on as do the others and the lift pump can be heard, this situation will result in a working car.

I know it could be imobilizer but I thought that would just tell the injectors not to fire rather than turn on the lift pump on or not ,so now im thinking whether it could be the lift pump dying sometimes since it also seems stubborn after putting fuel in.

Discuss?
