I see the lucky side too, 1 lass I was seeing a couple years back liked cars herself, I taught her to drive and when we were out she'd pay for almost everything herself. Looking back she was most likely trying to impress me (she was 18, blonde and size 8) so usually the only thing I paid for was fuel to get to hers, everything else she insisted on.

It's quite funny really! The way I see it though is that it's an interest or hobby. Some of my mates spend a hell of a lot on football season tickets (plus the associated costs of transport, food, kits etc), or smoking or drinking, which are equally as expensive. If you smoke 10 a day that's over £1,250 per year (based on £3.50 for a 10 pack) which is more than I'd spend on parts for the 6 over the same period.

Anyway, not meaning to start a discussion about smoking, I'm just saying people spend more money on other things like football and whatnot, which can be just as expensive. It's just a different outlet.
