I think Stephen could have been suggesting Ed drops his current engine into the 1.4's shell

What would be the point. It would be cheaper to buy a y and transfer the shineys
You would have to declare the engine change to insurance and dvla and so on

That's no where near as bent, but two specialists told me it wasn't worth putting on a jig
Meh you could fix that in 5 mins, cant see hwo that little damage can have bent much else other than whats on view?

The box section / Chassis leg was bent inwards, very slightly, towards the engine. This would need pulling out, and even then it would be structurally weakened. A proper jig and alignment was looking at the wrong side of £600 at the time, which wasn't worth it on a car worth £2,200.

Disclaimer: The above is not to be taken to heart and is probably a joke, grow up you big girl.

Well we popped to eds today and it's definitely FUBAR'd. The chassis leg is massively bent and there's a kink in the bulk top suggesting the suspension turret has been moved

Looking forward to seeing the next one though, whatever you get! You're such a dick And where's that Zoolander meme already?!

Massive thanks to You Scott, and Fooby, Niall & Grant, all of whom came over throughout the day to help out, provide banter and just generally make me feel a whole lot less shit about the whole unfortunate mess. Really really appreciated guys
So I managed to strip the coilies off, rear seats completely, front bumper and slam panel, rads, oil cooler, quickshifter and put the stock struts back on so it can be easily moved (if my damn neighbours kick up a fuss)

I'm gonna rope my dad into towing it down to Curt's on Saturday on a car transporter trailer, and then the stripping will start properly.

As soon as I have a few minutes to figure out what parts I want to keep, I'll bung up a breaking thread with what's available for people to provisionally put dibs on.
Don't write in here for dibs if anyone wants any of the bits guys, pm me or wait till I put up a breaking thread
Such a shame this, but it's gotta be done I guess.

You know it's the best thing to do, the sooner you get all your shiny shiny onto a new shell, the sooner you can go back to enjoying it. Give us a shout if you want help stripping it at any point, or rebuilding the new one. I'm currently unemployed, so generally at a loose end and well up for any shenanigans.
