Project 16v #theLEMOAN
Someone kindly stole 2 of the genuine rota centre caps while MrsPiggy was parked at a job.

They are tricky to find genuine and expensive....

So instead, custom set for price of one Rota cap...

knowledge is power, wouldn't you say Wink
the only time temps -esp oil, go up, is when queueing past Heathrow on the M25. then the oil indicates 110*c (gauge is slightly erratic), and water 90*c.

Trying to sort the little things to help me fall in love...

So debadged today as some of them were damaged...exposed a bad paint repair though...but that's no surprise.

Also have fixed passenger window the other day... Got motor on route for RCL fix too...

Fitted decent speakers in the front and rear (from the old GTD days) and some OEM front tweeters...combined with a lovely new(ish) Sony HU which connects via BT to me phone for music/calls. Plus a usb slot for a micro usb stick.

Sounds so good now. Old Fronts were blown badly.

Also found suspension knock that's been getting worse and bugging me... FNS ball joint...totally dead lol not sure it likes a ton of torque steer, wide wide tyres and brutal acceleration. lmao

Chasing boost issues.....

(also found a spare gear gaitor from the old GTd which is nice as the lemons one was destroyed. )

Need nice solution to gauge pods and sort RCL...plus get the AC working and I can feel the love coming...

Funny enough I am considering that... Having it like where the Focus ST does...always liked that

After much fiddling...found a neat way of fitting a stop screw for the VNT mech. With this and some alterations to the bonnet... Found some more movement and control

More boost to come...

Hi Piggy.  I may have got the timeline confused but was the 3rd rebuild in response to the overheating issues?  What did you decide was the main cause in the end?

You must know your way around that engine with your eyes shut now!!

Check the video sequence if you really keen... ARPs use torque settings

Does anyone use a fibre HG these days!?

It was due to the second catastrophic valve spring failure.
Cause: crap design then crap material used

I THINK bitron/brown relay.

Coughed and all cut out for a split second. Then 1/4mile later... Just cut out. Wouldn't restart. No LP. Relay buzzing its head off.

Away now till weekend so can't investigate further

Wasn't fix. Turns out it lost an earth somewhere... Much loom digging later... Still no joy. So temporary earth to the ecu case is keeping it going....new loom one day I think, maybe with a new shell...

In other news;

New brakes.

New bigher master cylinder...because, new brakes lol
