Indeed. very very true. original most unfit for purpose!
To keep things on track and just, well, because, look at it!
Techy bits:
BE4 hdi gearbox. Std diff. No monies for lsd.
Gti6 flywheel. Helix autosport 6 paddle sprung clutch/pressure plate for xud fitment.
Thus xud fork/aem etc with new bushes.

Be4...removed from a 306hdi. Duno why it was there...but seemed to be original to me
My fail peeps. Read be4 on bell housing. But says be3 on the official bit.

late 306 boxes were a mix of be3 and be4, mostly minor internal differences.

How much was the condenser if you don't mind me asking? I'm thinking about putting air con back on the Gti6 and it's missing the condenser to start with.

It has BE4 and BE3 stamped on it
So... I have deduced that it is indeed, a gearbox.

much like most gti6 boxes, they are a mix of BE3 and BE4, BE3R.
guess its going in at 30 degrees now you have decided on a 306 casing.

Ah, its basically a BE3 then, its in a BE3 style casing anyway....Probs has some parts bin BE4 bits inside. Will need to go in at 30 degrees with that box, but will make fitting much easier with stock mounts at top etc. Basically drop in like mine did in its MTDI form.

Is it just the photo or is the inlet of the PAS pump bent to the point where it's gonna be a big restriction?

And the water JUST from the rooflining:
And here is what was found...can you picture the previous owner?...

This image just describes the last owner of your car. An electrician (or farmer) who smokes, likes a drink, has a slight addiction to energy drinks, partial to a late night mcdonalds or 2 but is looking to change his lifestyle by taking up jogging or going to the gym.
Also either has a female child or takes the piss out of adult male friends on their birthdays.

Timed this up FINALLY today. Took ruddy forever to get round to this...keep planning to doing one or two things on this...then something comes up! Grr.
Few bits on the engine and then can hang it in the car.
Did same on crank pulley... good ref points in future if issues occur. Saves pulling an injector.

What's the end game with this then? Keeping the interior so a quick road car? Perfect chance to sound insulate it with the interior out?

Nice quick road car. Something to jam on track once in a while too. I realised I never used the racetractor like I initially intended. So I need a stereo, AC and sound deadening more often that the -150kg.
My ultimate goal is STILL 200bhp/ton.
