Well it's been confirmed as a cat do now, but they have only offered £1,100. I argued and they immediately increased to £1,300 but told them to fyc again and will be sending them other examples so they can pay me more. At least I know where I stand now but the annoying thing is that it will take at least two weeks to get any money for it.

I reminded them April fools was a couple of days ago
Apparently that price covers the cost of the lowering springs and the exhaust too. Mega FYC

Don't settle with anything less than 2k Scott. That was a tidy car! End of the day, you should be put back in the position you were in. I'd also remind them of how much inconvienience it has all been including costs for phone calls ect ect. All puts the price up!

Does anyone have acccess to the Parkers Valuation guide? You have to pay if the car is older than 12 years!

Then I have to enter an 03 reg
You still have to pay to adjust the mileage for a correct quote

Kimmie Wrote:Then I have to enter an 03 reg Wouldn't pay too much attention to parkers. Just get on auto trader, eBay ect and get some good examples. That's all they will want to see when arguing the cost.

Find some one with a glass's guide to get the correct valuation.
Any motor trader should have one. My mum has one at work (broker) that I often find really useful.
03-04-2012, 03:26 PM
Glass's has just come up with a Dealer price of £2800-£3300. Obviously the insurance company would knock a bit off bearing in mind that dealers mark up prices, but still! They fail at their estimates!

f*cking idiots have put it down as an 'at fault' claim, so apparently I don't get a courtesy car. Bunch of numpties, can't take a phone number down right (they insist on calling my home phone even though I've given my mobile and it's on the system as my preferred number) let alone the fault of an accident where someone drove onto the opposite side of the road into a parked car which was on the pavement . Seriously pissed off with Highway at the moment, I will be making a formal complaint against them when this has completed.

That's highway...I'm worried now as they cover me !!!
Get some pug mags with adverts etc and send them, I did that with a mk 1 fiesta supersport a few yrs ago, I was offered 300 as it was classed as a poverty spec fiesta, when I showed ones for sale at 2k +....I was then offered 1,600!!! Keep pushing Scott, show them soo much proof they have no room for negotiation and watch the money come in, also bill them for your time, calls and grief due their crapness !! the smokey old bus that sounds like a tractor...
03-04-2012, 04:11 PM
So wait, you weren't in the car, you were somewhere else, in a building at work and you were at fault for the accident? how does that work? WTAF
Did you ask them to explain how exactly you were at fault?
03-04-2012, 04:15 PM
Well the guy I spoke to just now told me Directline has admitted their driver was at fault, and Highway have now sent through my details for a courtesy car company (a real one this time) to sort something out for me. He was helpful enough to realise I was unhappy and offered to make a complaint for me, so that guy was actually decent. Still though, really not happy with how this has all gone.
Going to be some serious couch f*cking tomorrow when I call the valuation people. I'll be sending over that guide that you guys mentioned, along with another V6 which is on autotrader here for £3,390 and informing them my car is newer, not to mention my exhaust and lowering springs should also be included.
