Side skirts are sods for this on these. Thats why i refuse to fit them to mine. Its unfortunate but common now.

Looks like the hole I repaired on my 6,seem to be caused by mongs jacking the car off the hollow sill on metal less than 1mm thick, cracks, water gets in then rots the sill from the inside out all hidden by the skirt. Matts rallye was the same too

A friend bought a car a while back, it took a couple of years to show up but a large "repair" with expanding foam and filler showed itself in the end. Nothing really changes when it comes to bodging!

They go there even without side skirts, it's just most cars are only just getting to the age where it shows, as unfortunately it goes from the inside out. Expect to see a lot more similar in the next few years!

Should've scrapped it before fixing rust tbh, sounds like a heap.
Now you've put time and money into that, only way you'll get it back is to fix and sell now.

I think the sill repair on mine will still be there after the car has dissolved in the rain tbfh.
