RE: WARING RUST! - HDi--Power - 05-11-2015

Pugplus is a questionable Peugeot parts dealer, but given its an Irish car it cant have come from him. Time to get the welder out

RE: WARING RUST! - Eeyore - 05-11-2015

What? filling holes with expanding foam isnt a solution? D:

i thought it was newspaper and filler........

i mean, who has the time to cut out all the old rotten stuff, and weld good metal back in  Rofl

RE: WARING RUST! - ozonehostile - 06-11-2015

Looks like the hole I repaired on my 6,seem to be caused by mongs jacking the car off the hollow sill on metal less than 1mm thick, cracks, water gets in then rots the sill from the inside out all hidden by the skirt. Matts rallye was the same too

Newspaper and filler is old skool nowadays! A friend bought a car a while back, it took a couple of years to show up but a large "repair" with expanding foam and filler showed itself in the end. Nothing really changes when it comes to bodging!

Someone had 'fixed' the chassis rails like that on a HDi I bought last year! lol

RE: WARING RUST! - Paul Baldwin - 06-11-2015

Look at the plus sides, it's lighter and if you do like Dum-Dum did it'll float itself out of trouble Smile

RE: WARING RUST! - karl1989 - 06-11-2015

Look at my old progress thread of my ph1. That had rust

They go there even without side skirts, it's just most cars are only just getting to the age where it shows, as unfortunately it goes from the inside out.

Expect to see a lot more similar in the next few years!

RE: WARING RUST! - Matt - 08-11-2015

Too g to be checking mine out now! Scares the crap out of me

RE: WARING RUST! - tysonbully2k12 - 16-11-2015

RE: WARING RUST! - Ben_w - 16-11-2015

Fibreglassed???????

RE: WARING RUST! - Redordead89 - 16-11-2015

By no heater do you mean no power to fan so switch does nowt or no heat from blower when on?

RE: WARING RUST! - Toms306 - 16-11-2015

Should've scrapped it before fixing rust tbh, sounds like a heap.

Now you've put time and money into that, only way you'll get it back is to fix and sell now.

I.E - Bodged it! Rofl

Still, not to worry, it's only one of the main structural bits in the car...

That was my worry...... Itwasntme

All the rust ony Rallye number two got cut out and we used chassis and sill cuts from a scrapper to repair...

RE: WARING RUST! - Rippthrough - 16-11-2015

I think the sill repair on mine will still be there after the car has dissolved in the rain tbfh.

RE: WARING RUST! - Eeyore - 16-11-2015

is the title of this meant to be warning rust or waring rust?

RE: WARING RUST! - pugtk - 17-11-2015

Looks like a typical D-turbo Big Grin

Usually bodged together

RE: WARING RUST! - meridianman - 17-11-2015

What did you decide; scrap or repair?
