brake pads!
#1
Mine have life in them but theyre shit so been looking at new ones
Few questions..

Ebc greenstuffs?
Ferodo ds2500?
Mintex 1144?

Are the mintex/ferodo worth double the price of the greenstuffs?
Any other reccomendations?
Also when it comes to changing them ive not done it on a pug before but is the piston just push in with mole grips or is it a screw piston?

Rarely will you find a screw in piston on the front calipers. You wont do them with mole grips but you can either use a g clamp or I just bolted the caliper back to the carrier and used a screwdriver to slowly prise it back against the old disc.

I had ebcs on my Saab and they were epic. Can't say I've ever used the other 2 but I've heard both good and bad about the mintex pads

I've had the green stuffs and they were damn good imo, not had the others so can't compare though.

Piston pushes in on the front, screws in on the rear.

So do 1144s from what Ive heard, its just the 1155s that are a bit too hardcore for the road. I personally listen to rippthrough on these matters, and he always recommends the mintex pads, so that's what I'm getting next.

I have 1144s they are VERY good. I've not suffered fade so far have have used them very hard indeed...

Iirc the ferodo ds2500s fall in between the mintex 1144s and 1155s in terms of performance.

You clearly didn't look hard enough! Tongue

I got bored of looking but dturbo - http://www.spoox.co.uk/catalog/product_ ... 35669067d7

So they have to do them for the 266mm ones if they do them for the 247's and the 283's Tongue

Just get the Mintex pad number, slap M1144 on the end of it, phone a supplier up like camskill or rallydesign for a price.
Custom roll cages/shiny suspension bits/general fabrication work undertaken, PM me.
Top engine mount repair/reinforcement/chocking for cracked chassis and high powered cars, drive in, drive out, 2 hour turnaround.
