Help - Anyone in South Croydon area?
#1
Does anyone have time today/tomorrow to help me with the rear torsion bar?

Or can point me in the right direction of a garage which will do this?

This is always a job which won't always go to plan first time.

Have you got any bits spare incase bits go wrong /bolts round off?

The whole car hasn't gone to plan.
I think the previous owner purposely went around every nut/bolt and welded them together.

Nope, was thinking of giving it to a garage for a couple hours but no-one I've spoken to will touch it.

That's the problem, it can be a twat of a job.
My advice, get a scrap beam strip it a apart and see what the condition is.
To be honest, if you've been swapping engines etc the beam will be easy.
The only tricky bit is pressing the shafts out and in, also pressing the inner bearings in to the correct depth

Or send the stripped beam to Stef

Sounds like good advice, I've reserved taking the sledgehammer to the gearbox, but I might not hold myself back this time Wink

I'm picking some parts up this coming weekend, might see if the fella has the rear beam still.

Who's Stef and what do they do?
