Nope, that's Carl's. Mechanical Repairs from the GTi6 forum.

Has wanted for nothing, is immaculate and you'd be hard pushed to find a better one anywhere.

So it needs 4 new tyres and a cambelt...and he still wants 6k for it? I don't care how mint it is. It's not worth that!

Agreed, maybe towards 2k considering the mileage. But he bought it at 7 years old and 40k and barely drove it, still doesn't make it mint, my car is roughly the same age and mileage now, certainly not mint!

Also, it wanted for nothing!? I should bloody hope not in 400 miles!

Not sure why he hasn't done the belt though, I know over on the '6 forum he's known for belts snapping after his changes once or twice lol, but owning a PSA specialist garage it's something he could do quickly and easily himself anyway! Confused

Also, did anyone buy the moonstone he had up for £2.5k for months? lol

I didn't realise Carl overpriced cars by that much. It isn't worth half what he's asking especially needing new tyres all round and probably suspension parts very soon as rubber deteriorates weather you use it or not.

I agree! I'm hoping to try and pick up a cracker at the end of the year to garage as a summer car! Hopefully 3k would be enough? Or do you think you could pick up an immaculate one for less? Smile I'm hoping so! Lol!

Carls place did a lot of work on my old '6 (being based in Leicester) and it was all stellar so the stories are mixed at worst about the quality of product coming out of the place. And having dealt with him several times over the years he's a nice guy too.

However he does have a history of overpricing these. Yes he had that moonstone one up, wants £6k for this and wanted something astronomical for his high boost White Rallye as well. he sold that blue Rallye for like 3k as well I think few years back.

I guess someone might be willing to part with the notes otherwise he wouldn't waste £30+ a month listing these cars on eBay.

Carl G knows his shit, anyone commenting in such a way that implies he is a fool, is a fool themselves.

That being said, 306 Gti6's just aren't worth this much yet, regardless of condition. I don't believe he'll sell it for that much, not yet anyway. Even if it is one of the best examples in the world.

Aha yes I know of at least three cars that had serious issues with them after they had been to his garage

One was a very nice Nile blue S/c that hailed from the Leeds area

Actually, now I come to think of it, I remember a gti6.com argument in which it came out that some of his work wasn't first class. Still, he's been in the game a good long while, and the car is a good'un.

Didn't he sell a car to someone that he had "just done the cam belt on" and it snapped within a month requiring a whole new engine.

Why's he bothered to put the advert up tho??
It's massively over-priced and no-one is going to even give it a second look without pictures.

Why is it every time a business-based member is mentioned in a poor light you get a bunch of clueless people with no mechanical knowledge or skill jump to the defence of their work? I assume all those claiming the car is immaculate have worked on it or inspected it themselves? If not, why are you talking? Just curious is all. Well, curious and admittedly slightly irritable because i've had similarly clueless people wasting my time with shit advice recently.

Behaviour I assume. If someone goes to one of these companies and the owner is freindly and comes across as knowing what he's doing then people just assume the work he does is too notch. In reality you can't trust anyone's work unless you look at it your self and have the skill and knowledge to know what's right and what's not.
