well it made it easyer to cut/ weld up and tbh cant see any issues with it not being there once its bolted up it cant really move lol

i would have idealy liked to keep it standard but got no were else to put the cooler was going to put it behind the drives morrte and remove the inner lamp but theres not enough room really.

well did a bit of wor on the old gall to day decided to swap the strait through rear section for a box and a down turn (striped rear dosnt go well with a loud exhaust) also under sealed the underneath and the arches no rust present which is a good sighn Smile refitted the clones and painted my gti calipers ready for fitting and got some braided lines to go with them Big Grin

oh and started to fit the cage Big Grin

I like this! Looks good mate! Exhaust sits very well. I like how you actually chopped of the egr part and did it properly, i was going to just shove a plate over, or bung it but that now feels inadequate having seen this! :p

Do you know if the smaller gt15/k03 manifold flows better or worse than the bigger t2 style?

cheerse matey the mani was origanly bunged up but they have that passage in there just looked like it would flow like poo.

i wouldnt ave a clue if it acually does flow better but to me it looks like it should especialy now ive opend up the holes..

The inlets aluminium right? I'd have to bodge in some aluminium welding wire in my mig.. Yeah doesn't look like it would help with flow having the egr passage there. The bung i'm runing on my tmic is made from an old screwdriver handle and some jubilees lol (it's poped off only the once :roll: )

Have you matched and opened the ports on the head too? I think Dave did this?

well had her MOT today and she FAILED Sad but only on a rear number plate bulb Big Grin which cost 28p so not bad goin

also got the braided lines and gti calipers with new discs all round oh and some tarox road race brake fluid if it makes a difference i dont know but its much better now

im not sure its alot sturdyer than the show cages illue seen but when i got it it was just a ma and loop and two legs all the rest I've added so its stronger again and in the event of different needing the cage it should do the job Smile

Looking good Ash! Did they skim your head with the valves still in or not ? What clutch is that? What are you doing about your bottom end, cant remember if your getting rods or not ?

cheers Dave not sure how they did the head but its had a skim ,pressure test, seats re cut ,new valve guides seals and some other stuff. the clutch is one from cg clutches good price imo.

thanks mate. it wont be to much longer now i hope the main thing needed will be in my hands on the 16th Big Grin but then still need to do the pistons so now undecided again weather to just slap them in as they are :/

Personally I would, just for the piece of mind, it reduces the stress on rods, and on your HG, meaning you can also run a thinner gasket further preventing failures.
