It is nice, its got aston martin brakes on it which will be up for sale soon. Been told they'll fit a 306 with 18" wheels.
Car feels really nice to drive now, im really impressed with it. Letting it do a few miles and get the engine used to being run again before I start taking the revs up.

Know idea what word your after, but I know what you mean. I'm well chuffed with the car. it's so far from perfection, but it will get there.
Body work needs a dam good detail.
Its got a few dents but going to get a paintless dent repair person on them.
Needs a front bumper and some crystals.

So yesterday taking a girl home after work and my exhaust decided it wanted to snap.
So bodged that up today but its knocking like a bitch.
But I finally got to a point where I'm happy is ran in, so me and a few friends went to Matlock and I had a rather enthusiastic drive back!
Got a video here of my engine, will you be able to tell me if this is something rattling or the dreaded tap?

the tap doesn't sound like valve tap (would be no reason for that unless you timed it up wrong) but its incredibly whiny!
Actually listening to it again, that tap could be a cracked exhaust manifold. Have a look all over the manifold and see if you can find any black marks.

Tbh I think the whiny is from the power steering pump, it was ran dry for a while.
Either that or my alloy lower pulley seems really close to the cam belt cover and is catching.
Will get the car in garage tomorrow at some point and see if I can fond anything on the manifold

Has it whined like that since the belt change? Sounds like the cambelt could be too tight

It whined like that before change mate, I think it's a tensioner, guide or power steering pump on aux belt.
Was putting rallye setup on but a bolt snapped on the top guide.

So after checking my manifold I cant seem to see any cracks. But noticed my heat shield was loose so I got some bolts on there and it seems to of done the job. Ive taken power steering pump from the black gti6 because its my pump thats making the horrible grindy/whiny noise.
Just need to properly sort my exhaust out and get a garage to weld my back box. Also need to get a tyre fitted to my spare aidel I have so my carriage stops rattling.
Will be spending my day off detailing the car tomorrow I really cannot wait to see it finished.

Well I did the old screw driver trick today listening to everything. Its definitely knackered bearings in pump from being run dry.

Thanks mate I appreciate it. Its so far from clean, needs bumpers and drivers door.
I can't decide if I should keep my aidels or refurbish the cyclones with 195/50 tyres and 15mm spacers.
I love the aidels and they look great on the car. But I love the oem look the cyclones give it.

I would stick with cyclones bud, 15s suit it much better. Some nice rs reps with slight stretch would look ace
