This is literally the work of a mad scientist, rolling in all the things of mental frankenstein monster engine and bringing it to life!!! Work of an absolute fricken genius!!!!!!!! Inspiration of the feats that can be achieved when mind is put into gear.

All progress is good progress mate, that looks like a proper solid mount

Are they exhaust stud spacers spacing it out right?
If so - legend.
16-04-2012, 04:22 PM
Yeah, just four xud exhaust spacers, cut in half, welded to the plate as the mounting lugs for the charger, whole thing is made from off cuts etc.

Nice try Dan, hehe, don't think it will be quite that easy

Welding and fabrication projects undertaken, contact me for more information.

Starting it is fun, it involves numerous cans of ether, a heatgun down the intake full time, and 2 people.
Its on the mind constantly atm, so many mini sub projects going off at once, all causing issues! Hopefully they will all come together some time soon! | Dyno Power Runs & Steady State Facilities Available, Just Ask Anytime |

padge Wrote:i cant remember how that went? i remember someone getting jump started though lol. That wasn't Darren's, his was just about 5 mins of motoring over waiting for cylinders to catch one at a time ROFL

Another little video update, including the first start, although there was a camera fail involving the battery going flat on the tripod, and me not realising, so sadly it cut off after priming oil system, but video of it running was taken the day after when I moved it about a bit. Some of you with a well trained ear will probs notice a sticky injector on number two which is causing the thump thump thump you can hear from a single cylinder, which has now been resolved.

The random radio music in the background seems to fit most situations.

Fair play with all this - it's good to see that the approach to this project isn't just "That'll do", but when a pump isn't quite performing as you want it, it's removed, stripped back and changed again.
Really impressed mate! keep it up!!

Lol cant really "this'll do" the internal pump pressure if its not right though :p unless you want to wander around with 50hp Looking good Darren, strange seeing it moving in the video ;D

Dave, you know what I mean... Eg the SC bracket, having supporting lugs to evenly distribute the weight, whereas it "would do" with a single braket but creating a weakness in the cast.

Nice progress therr, definitely should organise another SW meet when this is finished.
Serious.
17-04-2012, 08:22 PM
And you reckon this WONT be finished for FCS? Pull the other one! Youve only got to bolt a couple of turbos on now!
Good to see it moving under its own power though, great progress imo
17-04-2012, 08:33 PM
Its great progress, but motors out again now, so wont be moving anywhere for a bit.
