ffs!!! its not f*cking funny anymore!!! by summer it wont be cost effective to own a derv car! i mite aswell switch cars over, the 306 costs about 60quid from a quater of a tank!! used to less than half of that not that long ago! there has to be some give somewhere as foods gonna bomb up again. customers are already saying how daft prices are and thats for the smart price ranges! i recon by xmas you wont get out for £2 in a shop.
plus how the f*ck can the uk get back on its feet if they keep f*cking upping every thing?
f*cking lower everything right down! put money back in peoples pockets.

What's the point of getting pissed off? At the end of the day, we're running out of fuel and everything is getting more and more expensive. People seem to think the government is putting prices up for them selfs. Errrr its not like the government is out to make a massive profit like the fuel companies.

Problem is, Niall, that the price of crude has barely changed lately, all the increases are from either Duty, or the retailers, it doesn't make much sense.

Yep it annoys me just as much as the next guy but there is nothing we can do about it because the fuel companies know we need fuel and the government need to make money from somewhere to pay for our bills (why they couldn't of f*cked off the Olympics and used that money I don't know)
Might as well just get on with it. Life's easier that way!

Yeah true but what are we going to do? Stop everyone from buying fuel so the companies have to drop there prices? Won't happen because thousands of companies will go under if that happens and then the country will be up shit creek even more!

But this IS the problem, there is nothing any one can do about it, so they can just keep adding taxes.....but there will be a point where people can't physically afford to run cars/vans for companies and the country will go under anyway.....we're f*cked either way tbh.

Also, somewhere between Bury st edmunds and newmarket diesel WAS £1.50 a litre today! :o

Not true Tom. The price of fuel will peak at a point because the fuel companies do realise that if it's too expensive, so many people will stop driving that they will start going under.
Other thing is bio fuels are becoming more and more available to these companies so soon they will have no reason to up the prices.
And anyway Tom, the tax pays for th running of the country. We all know that cost of everything is going up so why would the pricing stay the same for th government?

I wish they'd sell bio round here!

But why does the price of everything have to go up?? Surely it's the government that increases the prices of stuff?

The thing is if EVERYONE actually did do something it would make a difference, the thing being is that getting EVERYONE to do something about it takes a massive amount of organisation and for the majority people just don't care enough to do something about it, they will carry on moaning and carry on paying the extortionate prices

I don't think it'd even be possible!?

Insurance is exactly the same - if everyone stopped buying it the price would have to drop, and they can't arrest everyone for no insurance lol.

But you could never get everyone to do something anyway!

No. The government don't just jack up prices for the hell of it.
If you think about it, how much does fuel get used for pretty much everything you buy? Wether it be transporting it to the shop you buy it from or used for the manufacture of the product, it's used a lot! Cost of fuel is going up as we're running out, price of the products go up! If the companies absorbed the cost of the fuel price rise, eventually they would all start to go bust leaving more and more people signing on, meaning more payouts from the government meaning they have to find that money from somewhere! It's one big vicious circle really!

Right and how is everyone going to do something?
Take my company for example, we have over 50 engineers out on the road. We all do a minimum of 100 quid a week in diesel getting to sites. If we all stopped buying diesel, my company would go under putting thousands out of work. Now think what would happen if everyone did that? Be in a worse situation than we are now!

It would only take everyone to not buy fuel on 1 day to make a MASSIVE impact, well not even everyone would have to do it but the thing is even doing that would just make the fuel companies reduce the costs and it's not the companies at fault IMO, they do all the work to get the fuel and it's not an easy process it's the massive amount of tax added on pretty much everywhere! We're taxed basically twice on fuel, taxed on the fact we have to buy the fuel, the tax to allow us to drive it on the road, the tax on the insurance we have to buy to drive it and the list could go on.. the whole system is a complete joke and it all goes back to the fact that the government are spending more than they have! If the government are lacking money maybe they should 'tax' those bankers getting there millions of millions of pounds in bonuses every year rather than shitting on the little guy just trying to make enough money to put bread on the table

Unfortunately tony Blair f*cked us up by selling a shit load of our gold dirt cheap so yes we are spending more money than we have. To survive. I guarantee that if the government said right to save money, we're cutting all public services, you wouldn't be happy then?!
We are in a state at the moment but we've got to get out of that so times will be tough.
I do also agree that these bankers who get millions in bonuses should be taxed shit loads more but then you will get all these human rights activists saying "oh it's so unfair. How can they afford to run their yhaut!". You can't please everyone and you also get those people who are not happy no matter what and they just moan and blame everything on the government because they don't really understand what's happening......

There is always a bigger picture which people do not understand but most people would rather go by the 'ignorance is bliss' way of life

Other thing is your only going to wind your self up more and more if you get too involved.
At the end of the day, there is nothing you can do about it. I know you've said if everyone stopped buying fuel that would work but it wouldn't at all. Not all people can afford to do that! It's just not practical and then imagine getting the whole country to do it!
If the country want to save money so fuel tax doesn't go up so much, start cutting things where it doesn't matter. Like paying for uni costs for pointless courses and for everyone who wants to go to uni for the experience!

the every one not buying fuel thing wouldnt work.
we need it too much! lol

Having no fuel would mean you would have to not use your car on that day so not working and that would mean the whole country doing it. It just isn't feasible to do!

Also they need to come up with viable alternative fuels, cause I don't ever want petrol to run out while Iam driving, so If everyone stopped using it now it's all the more for me ha ha

In all fairness to the current government , they are trying to but because of all this human rights bollocks, it's more difficult than just stopping them all straight away!

And we do need to support other countries as well. If we don't support other farmers in other countries, it could mean the cost of food drastically rises meaning yet more cost to ourselfs.

I'm starting to regret buying the Skoda now. Once I turn 25 and can get classic insurance I'm chopping it in for 2 cars, a DT for work and running about and then an mx5 or 205 gti for the weekends, I do 200 miles a week which isn't much but it's costing me £200 a month!!!
