I just removed the air con, its 4 16mm nuts and bolts to get the compressor off. I will get some photos of routing tomorrow.

While I was under there I worked out why it sounds like turbo death, the exhaust has almost entirely split where the down pipe meets the cat so I've had to spend my last £50 on a de-cat that'll be here Wednesday, fortunately I don't need the car before next weekend. I really am loving the fact that I barely use the car these days, I think it makes me love the car more.

How is that a 2.2? :p
Looks good fella, surprised the sprinter cooler fits actually. Can't wait until i've got alternative transport to work, will make projects so much more fun/interesting when i'm not always worrying about having it back on the road for Monday.

So todays progress has mostly involved spending 3 hours trying to fight the original boost pipe out from behind the engine and then finding out that the inlet l bend I have isn't the forward facing one i was told it was, it is in fact another down pointing one. so I desperately need to find a forward facing one for free just to get the car on the road as I'm totally skint.
I got the lower boost pipe arrangement fitted though so thats a good start and the intercooler is held on with 3 out of its 4 bolts and the slam panel has been trimmed to clear and refitted, sadly it needs to come back off so i can reconnect the bonnet release cable. I'm not sure what to do about the cooler as it annoys me it not being able to have it central, sadly this is the issue with buying random coolers off ebay. Might paint a strip of the left hand side matt black or even do the whole thing and go for ninja mode.

Ha true dat..
I hate being able to see the intercooler at all though, unless its a petrol turbo with a purpose built bumper... Otherwise hide it! IMO obvs..

Coming on well mate, get some pictures up of the boost pipes I want to see how you routed them.

I think I'm going to leave it silver as its an OEM cooler it's matt silver rather than polished so shouldn't look too bright and TBH unless you know what your looking at 99% of people would never know it wasn't standard for the car especially once the bumper goes on. I suppose I'll see, can aways paint it in the summer if I change my mind. So the de cat is here
[attachment=12758] Looks like the L-bend is at the post office so I'll get that tomorrow afternoon on the way home from work. I'm just f*cked off with the weather as it looks like I'm going to get wet whenever I decide to try and get the car back onto the road I reckon on doing the exhaust first and then its the fun bit of finishing the FMIC that should be a bit more of an incentive.

I thought that same thing, surely would have done better than 161 with a hybrid?
15-01-2014, 01:59 PM
IIRC it never dyno'd with the big blower..
Seans HDi made nearly 190hp with it though on a stage 2 map
15-01-2014, 02:10 PM
my hdi was 168hp with 300ish ft/lbs
15-01-2014, 02:12 PM

No, just a stage 2 map

Shows how much power you can make, by just relieving the back pressure from those little turbos!!
