Better buy some satin black paint then.
Don't know what to do about the rear bumper though :-\ that's going to be pretty hard to get it looking phase 1, mainly because there isn't a bit to paint black really....

Good progress Zakk, good to see you have a sport bumper.
For the rear bumper I'd mask off the lines where the back bit is suposed to be black and paint it, it wont be textured enough but it should work. Or get a ph2 estate rear bumper and paint the upper and lower diablo.

I think the main issue with the rear bumper is that on the estate they don't really follow the lines of the car. On a ph1 the black trim on the bumpers and side strips make a black line around the car, but estates have that flat top on the bumper to make loading the boot easier guess.
I just don't know if it would look right having the front bumper and strips in a line then the rear noticeably lower.
This is why I'm sort of learning towards full colour coding until I can think of a way to make the arse end look more 90s haha

I'd black the big lower plastic moulding on the boot lid and that should help make your line.
Heres a non coded ph2

Be too much work and doubt you could ever get it to fit right.
Main issue is that the bumpers on a 405 mount on completely different to a 306.
They're the same as a 205 if you've ever seen how those are held on

I think il dewiper it tbh, I never use it anyway.
Il change the rubstrips and get the black done then see how it looks in real life.
Il definitely leave the handles red though, I hate pov spec handles aha

Unique is what I'm aiming for :-)

While clearing out my old storage unit I found my 405 mi16 seats, completely forgot about these haha
Best thing is that they fit in a 5 door 306, the rails are slightly different but all the holes are in the right places
[attachment=12713]
Also found a ph1 diablo bonnet on a car being broken near me, hopefully turn out to be a good one to save having to get the other one resprayed

Sorry if it's been said already, but you could try to get hold of the thicker Ph.1 rubstrips for the side? I think it'd go with the bumpers better.
Looking forward to seeing this take shape!

I have everything I need for the ph1 makeover, just getting a better bonnet next week without laquer peel :-)
Also need to get some ph1 side repeaters because I just used my spare set on the truck tub :-\ lol
But in answer to your question I do indeed have a full set of ph1 5 door rub strips waiting to be painted
