I like them but I think I've worked out that alot more of my seat issue is height rather than outright how far back they go and so now I want whatever goes the lowest possible. Also I'm guessing you'll be out of my price range anyway

Cheers mate but you don't realise how much different seating changes your driving experience so it might be worth waiting for me to sort seating before the engine.

Only thing that bugs me, about fitting different front seats. Is that people don't really bother to get the rear seats done to match, If the rear is done to match, it would really set the car off.

Doh

Right so your all gonna hate me for this.

The 2.2 isn't going in any time soon and the 2.0 is getting a FMIC thats in the garage, a 160+bhp map that I already have and the helix clutch thats sitting in my garage.

It hurts me to make this decision but I have almost all the bits to get the car to 160bhp (bar 2 slilicones and some clamps) and the 2.2 still needs lots of bits buying and some making/modifying so when I can borrow someone strong its gonna get lifted from the garden into the garage. I want to do the 2.2 the justice it deserves and not some bodge job just to get it in ASAP. Ideally I am gonna get my arse into gear and properly remove the swirl flaps while its apart to do the cam belt rather than just pinning them open at I have currently done and this will also mean I can clean out all the EGR gunk too.

Shame to hear dude, but real life priorities take president over the car (although i wish they shouldn't have to). Tough decision but fair play Smile

Yeah sadly a mortgage, bills, debt and all the shit that seems to go wrong every month just eat all my money really.

Defo, it might end up being in for FCS14 but I doubt it. That said fitting engines in the summer is so much better than doing it in the freezing wet middle of winter.

Yeah I will. 160-170bhp and nearly 300lb/ft is not to be sniffed at.

Defo, its such a rare conversion I wanna do it justice.

I'm not interested in the RX8 ones as nice as they are.

Gonna get a set of these

which I may or may not run without adjusters.

Fat boy bucket seats mounted on the floor it is then Big Grin

but on a serious note, i find that s16 seats are alot lower than any other OE 306 seat. makes for a much nicer driving position IMO

I'm planning a few of these in the summer anyway, might just be polishing days though.

Yeah, them and old DTurbo seats, I'm not sure if theyd still be as low on 5dr sub frames.

The buckets are just gonna be bolted to some steel plate and directly to the mounts in the floor.

So the standard seats are both back in now the turbo is sounding awfully loud, hoping its just an exhaust leak but fear it may be terminal.

Don't like editing other people's files - but I'll happily do one with plenty of power up top, and a nice hardcut limiter ;-)

Jeepers that core is huge lol!

Whats that off? You going to pass back over the top and bring the pipes in that side?
Reply

Its a sprinter intercooler, they are cheap brand new (like sub £50). The passenger side goes between the rad an chassis leg prefectly, the driver side I had to cut the bottom corner off the vertical part of the chassis leg and remove the plastic splash guard. Not sure if I'm going to be able to refit the washer bottle there, if not its not a big issue.

Its only held on with 1 bolt but its first to pipes off it are on and clearance is fine.

In 4 hours today I stripped the front end (PITA considering the previous owner had done everything up stupidly tight), removed all the air con and the fans, removed a PAS pipe bracket, ran a die over one of the studs on the chassis, hammered a few bits straight or flat and did a very delicate cutting job with a 9" grinder.

Hopefully gonna pipe it up tomorrow.

Any photos of what way you routed the pipes or anything? Quite interested in different setups

Mine goes under the front cross member as I coudnt get the pipe in the back with the AC pump in the way, gonna either get a new belt and take it off or get some pipes and reroute the hotside towards the passenger side and have it act like a twin pass.
