God, if i had 10k to spend on a car in the first place, id deffo need to budget in another 10k to at least tripple the output, or else you might as well just have an ax with a busa engine.

Absolutely this, I have had the modifying bug since long before i was old enough to drive. Within a couple of years of using a computer i had built my own from component parts, same goes for my bicycles, have custom-built six of the things from individual parts. How often do you buy something and think, "this does everything i want it to, and more"? Smarthphones don't count btw, they've mastered the art of including more crap than you will ever use in one small package!

I think budget is a big part of it too, there's very little in my price range that does what i want it to as standard, therefore i must "fix" it. And the fact that i'm a bloody awkward shape lol. I quite like beating the system too, my computer/car/bike does this, this and this and only cost a 5th of what yours did, i win! I realise that's quite a childish way to look at it, but hey, i enjoy the competition.

up here, it was the nova was the car for the joyriders, not many metros used to get blagged. you could bet it on a Friday night, a nova or a fiesta would get it.

Honestly, the work it has taken me to NOT get a remap, fat turbo, set of sweet as f*ck wheels, colour code everything etc etc to the Volvo has been simply unreal, it's only the fact I've still got the 306 that it's stopped me...

Meh, sadly I've got f*ck all money, another project car etc....

I've done 10k in 4 months in it so far, making it less comfortable than it is would be retarded... The whole point of it is that it is reliable as f*ck, comfy as f*ck etc...

But still I'm always on the lookout for the 07-on bumpers and lights in silver... Since, well, it'd be rude not to!

So it was really NFS Underground 2 that got me hooked on cars. Was awesome to modify all the cars. Couldnt wait to drive and then ram raided halfords with the first car. like to think im a bit more subtle now haha. PS2 in the car with NFS U2 is awesome haha. OEM+ is definitely the way forwards and diesel tuning has massive potential. But then again noise of petrol is awesome. Just love it all really and especially the 306 as its so cheap to run and maintain. Im going to stick to 306s until I get a evo 9 or a skyline or something good.

For me it was a mixture of things. Nfs u2 being one of them. My dad has always tinkered with cars but not really modified them. My step dad was always the same but hed buy fast cars and just stick to the nooby mods. Plus since I was about 12 mfn has always done car nights each week, which is virtually on my back garden.
So I've been in the modified scene from being young always loved it! I always buy standard cars but there never standard for long.

But atm I have other things on my mind, I need to get my life on track! Which is why im considering breaking the gti6 as I cant see my self having the money for my plans as other things are happening now.
So if anyone would like anything ill start a thread and see what's wanted and see if it's worth breaking.

Also I keep thinking of selling my aidels.
The extra cash would be great help but thats going to take time for me to think about it. They have 2x enduro runways on rear done about 5-7k 2x toyo proxies 1.5k. Powdercoated few months ago with no marks. 15mm spacers with stud conversion and nuts.

I know oil burner got £300 for my other set with part worn tyres. I think id be expecting around £500 as these really are mint and look stunning when nice.
