I've got a xsara rack with PAS on the gti, bloody love it!

Just found a couple of oil leaks on the dt engine Sad
Think both ends of the crank are leaking and I think the oil feed to turbo is leaking too

Although it doesn't seem to be from the crank seal timing belt end?! The oil is higher up.
Unless it's leaking through from the oil feed for turbo

No trace of oil on the belt either

11mm pump going on tomorrow

Need to swap this arm over from my other pump to clear the throttle arm. I also need to put my throttle arm on

Why's this spring a different colour to my other one?

New

Old

LDA pin that was in there

Anybody got any ideas of the difference in springs?

I can't get the LDA boost pin out as the fuel pin has stuck a bit.

Fitted the 11mm pump yesterday with thanks to Ryan and the difference is phenomenal.
I've kept my LDA pin and pump head to save swapping a few bits over.
Bad bits about the pump is that the solenoid is sticking open when I take the key out.
Gov cradle was cracked so had to use mine
LDA pin was a bit bodged and running on the side of the ramp.
Throttle arm seal was leaking but all is well now.

A few pics

Well going from a maxed out 9mm to 11mm, it's a huge difference!

The 11mm's have huge potential. They are engine killers though if your not careful.

Much smokier or no? In what way has the drive changed? I know they're supposed to have more top end power, so to speak.

Has the old spring not just been stained by blow-by? That looks like burnt on oil to me, same as old dipsticks.

It's not stained mate, 100% it's 2 different springs.
Feels like a got masses more torque over the 9mm, pulls well every time where the 9mm was a bit hit and miss.

sounds like you got a bit of a lemon with the 11mm pump but glad you got it all sorted now.

you think the 11mm is good now.. wait till you get a turbo to give the needed air....oh my lady gaga

I'm not complaining about the pump, you'll always find problems with things.
Just saved me finding an 11mm pump and swapping the bits over.

Going to pick up an engine weekend after next to rebuild and stick some hdi conrods in and possibly might go for head studs too.

What's the safe limit of boost on a td04?
That turbo I've acquired has got a genuine 65k on it and has always been looked after, also need a oil line if someone can point me in the right direction

most peeps just weld the wastegate shut. 30psi most run at.
its out of the efficiency range and thus a bit pointless imo but the td04 is a hard ass and will take it
