Anyone recommend some?
Tried the sponsor on here wanted £1800 for a standard d turbo so didn't bother quoting with mods
Brent acre want £1800 witch is a bit steep
Anyone recommend some to get quotes with
Got no no claims 21 year old
Can insure it with no mods for around £700
Cheers

With Brentacre? How?! They only charge for performance increasing modifications and in my experience, not much at that.
Greenlight are very good, but similar to Brentacre for me.

Danny have you tried Flux yet?
Fill the form in on the traders sticky and i'll see what I can do.
When you say you have been quoted £1800 standard so didn't bother requoting with mods - You'll find with modified car specialists your quotes will 99% of the time come back cheaper with mods! You can't insure a standard car on a modified insurance scheme.. which then leaves less companies able to offer a quote.

The reason you are getting quoted £1800 for a standard dturbo as with modified insurance companies you do not unlock the special underwriters for modified cars untill you declare some mods.. ringing a modified insurance company for a standard vehicle is only giving you access to standard underwriters declare some mods and watch it fly down as it gains access to their modified policies.
my friend had the same situation with adrian flux. with a modded focus

Has anyone had to deal with a claim through either flux or brentacre? As they are both coming in around the same price. Obviously brentacre seem hassle free for any cosmetic changes and even power changes they have said ill just have to pay the difference if i decide to do anything.

Ian,
You'll also find here at Adrian Flux you won't get charged any fee's to add cosmetic modifications to your policy, and again even with mods that increase your performance you will only ever see a minor increase.
And with regards to the claims query, we also have a 24hr UK based claims line too
Hope this helps
Jordan

dan try limiting the mileage too and lowering what the car is worth. if all else fails, try looking in the back of some performance car mags for insurers. that was how I got my Dturbo down to 1600 quid when I was 19. Then it dropped down after that.

also consider fully comp and increase the amount your willing to pay upon a claim. fully comp can be a lot cheaper than 3rd party that way

Hang on....so this is your second car, therefore 0 NCB? Have you tried asking if the NCB from your daily can be mirrored by any of these companies?
Modified cars with 0NCB will always cost a lot otherwise. I tried doing it with the Golf but the prices were ridiculous.

How do you manage that!? I guess you don't have any proper power increase mods?

Hmm, I'm also with admiral, they wouldn't allow me proper power mods even with 3NCB though - 40% remap, intercooler changes, bigger turbo etc.....
That said, they are cheapest for me on standard or slightly modded cars still. Just like lowering and a stage 1 map for example.

I got quoted £750 with my old 205 and I could basically have any mod interior and exterior up to a 150bhp limit. In my own named aged 22.
