Or solid bottom mount (dunno why you'd want that though given you've already got one...)
Close. Don't know how you could make a solid upper mount from that? But its to replace the bush that goes in the lower engine mount fork.
Cut it into 30mm lengths and drill a 12mm hole though it and hey presto, just press it in.
Goodbye fillings/spine

Thats it Chris!
So it started life like this
And got cut to 50mm (near enough!)
And drilled out to 10mm. The old bush had to be drifted out (absolute bitch of a job)
And this is what remains
And how it sits tonight. Still gotta drift it through another ~15mm
Took the best part of about 4 hours. Well, managed to fit new rear discs and pads, but that takes about as long as a cup of tea!

So a bit of an update.
Managed to get the lower engine mount fork billet bush pressed it properly.
Jesus christ, the throttle response is immense! It really has livened up the car no end. The responsiveness, feedback and sharpness is phenomenal.
Its not all bliss though. Its madly solid, to the point it reverberates every panel in the car. The panel vibration is louder than the exhaust
However, the girlfriend loved it, I near enough had to bail out the car 500 meters up the road. Winnar
Had a productive day at work friday... Somehow I am now particularly popular amongst traffic wardens in london nowdays...
And went to the breakers yard today. Got a good bargain. EPAS pump, new gear stick, lower engine mount fork (with standard bush!!!) and this battery box for £40
A little surface rust, but been grinding it back this eve and ready to paint up now

So first update in a while. Been very quiet due to various social matters and a lack if spare time. Managed to get out on the car today and get quite a bit done.
Firstly I set about chopping the suspension turrets so that I can run camber on my adjustable top mounts. As you can see from the picture, the adjustment is hindered by the shape of the turret, so some modification is needed
Like so:
Also sanded down some surface rust whilst I was there
All primered up
And in its full colours
Got quite a bit of the inner arch undersealed too. Also unblocked the drainage point by the wiper motor

It really is a poor design. You could cut the hole bigger if you really wanted. At least that way leaves would have half a chance of washing out...
I've also found a bit of rust that will need welding up under the PAS reservoir

Nah not bothering with arches. I'm hoping that it will all bash into shape with a rubber mallet.
