My fan belt is squealing, and it's very high pitched, I was wondering if there is a quick fix until I can get it looked at.

There should be 2 cm of movement under firm thumb pressure. They do have to go quite tight to stop the noise.

Always make sure you cant turn the belt more than half way round once fitted and tightened, that shows you enough tension has been applied.
