Pieter mailed me with some good news
Car is ready for mapping, coolantleak is fixed, new thermostat fitted.
Modded the flyback in the VEMS standalone , so you can open/close the injector quicker, and then its easier to finetune the engine.
He didnt have time to put the car on the dyno yet, so hell start monday first thing in the morning.
So hopefully hes got some good news for me when i wake up from the nightshift on monday, and we can take the trip again to Nijmegen and collect the car, if everything goes well , ill be driving the car home!

Well woke up from the Phone buzzing ---> email from Pieter, he was still having problems with the cooling.
Since we removed 2 hoses from the rear of the engine to create some space and from who we thought could be rerouted/deleted...... Uhmm to make a long story short, we made a mistake.
So luckily i have another engine here in the barn, removed the small housing from the rear of the block, searched for the hoses we need.
And around 13:00 Marvin picked me up to drive to Nijmegen, we got there around 16:00!
The car was still on the dynapack, jumped under it and started with the most shittiest job i did in a long time, had to remove the housing + hoses, didnt have room to turn my head.
It took quite some time but eventually managed to swap the housings over and add the 2 hoses we needed to the coolingsystem.
Bled the system and everything was great!
Since it was already getting late, we ordered some food and Pieter would do a few quick runs.
He did a few runs, and engine ran very efficient, already doing 318BHP on 0.6 BAR, wich was already almost 27 more then the 205 turbo (466BHP) from Eric which did almost 290 on 0.6bar in the mappingstage.
You can see what a difference the DP inlet makes here, alot more efficient then the standard GTI inlet.
Pieter did a few more runs, and on the last run the newly installed hose on the back of the housing to the radiator decided to tear, so spilled everything with coolant.
Cleaned everything and removed the hose and fitted the reserve we brought, since it was now already very late! we decided quits.
Pieter will try to finish the car on wednesday, we decided to go max 1.2 bar (that is the max for my wastegatespring installed now) and installing a bigger spring will be a bitch of a job, so we decided max 1.2 bar will be enough for now, which will see us in the 440-450bhp range!
So ill update again when Pieter gets back to me,but things are looking good for now!

What a shame about the coolant issues, however for a first result on the dyno that's great. I can't wait to see it get pushed for a proper result!

Well!
I was shopping with the wife, the Phone rang... Pieter from DP
Good news? uhmm yes and no, the yes part was it makes more power then it did with the runin mapping, the no part was that my clutch is fked/slipping
(something is wrong with it , reverse is still very awfull, and downshift from 3rd to 2nd is as awfull as reverse)
As the clutch was slipping and the replacement hose also decided to tear again!(old shit hoses) Pieter decided it was quits for now.
Result of the slipping clutch was 350BHP on 0.7 bar boost, he went till 370, but the clutch was occasionally slipping, so 350BHP is what we have to to do with for this summer, to be honest i was quite dissapointed and as Pieter said the engine was really easy makeing power, he was also a bit dissapointed he had to stop @ 350BHP since there was A LOT MORE IN IT!
I called Marvin and we jumped in the car and drove to Nijmegen again, car was already outside waiting for us, we had to fix the leaking FK#$%&$%&@$ hose again, so crawled right back under and again it was the same shit hose that had a tear in it, removed it a put a new hose on it, and we fixed that, bled the system again and we found out that the radiatorcap is not doing its work, and its leaking at the radiatorcap.
We switched the wheels , as i didnt want to ruin the fresh R888 without having the car alligned, as its a 2.5 hour drive from DP to my home.
Thanked Pieter for the great help and service and got a nice hefty bill in return wich was a lot more then i thought, but his hours arent cheap when working on cars and hes worth it.
Did a testlap around the industrialpark, and the 3rd ->2nd downshift is really horrible.... we still dont know what the problem can be, but it could be very well a FKED clutch, 600 euros down the drain! thankyou mister SACHS .
As i was still scared about the gearbox/clutch mishap, i took it really easy and still was kinda dissapointed on the power outcome.
But that was before i gave it some beans on the way home, didnt think that the screamerpipe was that loud , until i decided to hit it in 3rd! OOOOH MY GOD! this thing is the god of thunder! and it really flies!
Had a nice drive home, the speedo /rev isnt working, i think the cable got loose on the backside of the cluster, will have to look into that after the weekend, + need to arrange a new radiatorcap.
Last hour of the trip it started raining, which meant wheelspin @ 120kmpu + so i had to take it easy.
Ill try to get some videos up tomorrow of some flybys for you guys, since the bill of DP was a lot higher then expected, i wont solve the clutch problem anytime soon, we will have to drop the gearbox after summer and see what the problem is.
Im having the car cleaned/polished this weekend while Marvin and i are @ the Nurburgring, i then have another 2 weeks holiday and ill will sort some small things out and spend some time with the wife instead of with the black mistress.
I had a few doubts before if i should go the screamerpipe route, but im so glad i did, its really insane!
I only floored it once from 3rd up to 4th, and i can tell you this... its fking quick!
After winter im back with a new clutch and then will take this thing to 1,2+ bar instead of this pussy boost of 0.7, for now the 350 is more then enough and i will try 2 -> 3>4 gear pulls tomorrow when its dry.
And yes ill make vids!

awesome...it didnt go bang though!
re:clutch.
I had a long discussion with guys here at CG Clutches. They can build one off clutch to your specs for very little money considering what it handles. PM me if you want and I'll give you contact details

pm send mate,
ive talked to someone about the Sachs plates, sometime ago they changed the "race" series and theyve become "weak" the 470 bhp 206 also has the same Sachs race clutch and that one holds the power just fine!
I wish i had known that before , i would have opted for something else then, cause this is 600 euro just down the drain.
Going to score a radiatorcap today and drive a bit in the dry
Ill update tonight with some clips

I'd recommend helix after the one I had in my hdi.
Fair enough I was only hitting 300lbs/ft but I kicked the shit out of that car!
My mate has a 350bhp focus rs and that thing shifts like a mother fucker... I can only imagine what this is like. Every time he takes me out I think that I have to turbo my 6!!
Screamerpipes are the sechs!!!! I loved mine!!! Can't wait to hear a perv screamer!

So looking forward to seeing these videos mate!! There's been so much anticipation for months on this!
Bad news about the clutch though. Still, 350bhp through the wheels of a 306, EPIC.

If you can get anything out of cg with regards to a clutch for an xu engine that can handle 450bhp then i'd be surprised.
Been there and done it, as soon as you mention anything to do with big power, they crumble under the strain of actually getting off there arse and making one.

hose is fixed, new radiatorcap that marvin brought
350 is oke for now, but im sure i need the extra 100 for next summer
I need to fix the speedo next week, the cable got loose from the cluster, so ive got no speed and revcounter.
im still pissed of about the clutch thing, the gearbox is perfectly fine, the bad reverse and downshift is the clutch its fault , were pretty sure about that.
Had a quick test today with Marvin, drives very good, although the problems with the clutch take away a lot of joy driving it.
I made 2 small clips, since its blooooody hot here at the moment in excess of 30 degrees, its no fun driving the car.
Ill try to setup the gopro maybe tonight and try to make something that shows the speed.
these 2 small clips are made with the iphone, sound of the screamer is alot louder irl, but ill give you an idea
