I've finished the lacquer on my skirts but one doesn't have the gloss finish.
Can I just put more lacquer over (already hardened) or does it need stripping back again?

How do you mean not a gloss finish? As in the lacquer has orange peeled?

seems odd that it dont have a gloss finish!?
You will need to flat back the lacquer. use some 1000...wet...that will give the new layer something to grab on to!

If you don't have enough lacquer on thus causing a matt effect, do not use water to flat it back. The paint underneath will be porous and despite it looking dry, it will still contain water, and ruin your lacquer as it dries.

Just use dry 1000 grit and go over the whole skirt, don't have to take the paint off just scuff it up to take the shine off so the next coat has something to stick to
