Right now I've given up looking for an original radio because they are too expensive and shit anyway, plus the interior of my car hangs. So I want a cheap car radio that I can just slot in and not give a crap about it. I've looked in Argos and they are all £30+ so there must be somewhere cheaper than that to go.

But you want one for under £30? So can't exactly be picky... As said, get on eBay and see what you can get, which isn't a lot

MP3 port, ideal! Looks quite snazy as well.

They have CD players in them which is no good. I want either a cassette playing one or one that I can plug my MP3 player directly into.

Right, plumped for a Sony cdx gt121 in the end, £15 pounds from the scrappy, bargain! Just need to sort out an aux adapter for 10 pounds, might as well have got the £30 pound MP3 one from eGay in the end anyway!

What's the secret to properly mounting these things anyway? The OEM pug bracket won't come out of the centre console, it appears to be wedged into the plastic somehow. Therefore I can't get the standard cage into it and therefore the radio is just slotted in and sagging down at the back.

You have to bend the old cage a bit to get it out. You should see where its catching if any of the tabs have been previously bent in.

The trouble is I think there is a plastic sort of tab which is holding one end in position, the other end is free. I might have to break it out as long as I won't need it again lol! Thanks for the tip.
