Just noticed that you bonnet has half a badge? Loooooooooks soooo nice dude

Lol let me guess you tried moving it around with no driveshafts in?
Just get set of old shafts and rip end joints off to use to bolt bearings together to stop that happening when motor is out | Dyno Power Runs & Steady State Facilities Available, Just Ask Anytime |

Yep mate, complete f*cking wheel fell off with brakedisc and everything lol... looks ill be needing a new wheelbearing after this one i think...(?) BTW barnbuilds suck! i just washed my car, and its been in the barn for 5 hours now and its a beast already ... lol waste of effort Next month when the car is going to get the exhaust done in the garage, we are lowering the rearbeam aswell.... finally cause i cant stand this insane rake...looks awfull Boostpipes are @ the welder... will be done this week.

The shaft is what holds bearing together lol, hence why its important to do shaft nut up to correct tightness gotta love learning the hard way, I learn many years ago being lazy with field cars not bothering to put nuts on, soon found out dosnt work like that!

Hahaahahah, i hear bang... and then my wheel was uhmm like fcked... lol
I assume this wrecks the wheelbearing during steering? cause the backend of the bearing was completely of.. We hamered it in again now and put the wheel on again, and pushed the car the last 3mtrs to its place..... need to get a new wheelbearing i guess?
26-03-2013, 08:56 PM
so over all how much has the engine build cost you or don't you want to add it all up yet?
26-03-2013, 08:58 PM
Yeah new bearings in both wheels to be safe mate, the driveshaft clamps the wheelbearing together in the hub so moving it without them connected will have put a lot of stress on the bearing, and the result you've seen first hand

Well, not much news..cars collecting a lot of dust and i mean a lot!
Tomorrow were putting the engine back in, and start with putting things together for the final time (hopefully) ive bought 98% of what i need to finish the project. Still waiting on the adapters for the brakes, some intercoolerpiping has to be rewelded since they fcked up. Bought new wheelbearings for the front.. so i can get that fixed when the engines in, i now know that pushing the car in and out of the barn with no driveshafts...uhmm kills your bearings and your wheels fall of , lol Hopefully we can do some good work on the car tomorrow, and connect everything again and then its time to finish of the interior, move the car to VVT Motorsport to get the exhaust on, bleed the brakes, etc.. then cars needs to get back home and fit the cage. Still a lot of work to be done, and hopefully well make the deadline for mapping in May. In the meanwhile i got tired of the yellow caliper laying in the kitchen (other one is with the adaptermakingdude) and ive painted it .....uhmmm FLUOR PINK, white base coat and a few layers of Fluor Pink... the pics dont even do them justice, ive tried 3 cameras and they all cant capture the real color of it... you can see these from MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!! away, theyre insanely bright, thought of doing the rollcage also this color, lol the pics dont even come close to the real flashy color Also change of plans, were going screamerpipe!!!!!! More fresh pics tomorrow

That's so win
Correct me if I'm wrong but did I not read you had to ditch the screamer pipe originally due to space constraints?

To bad the cameras cant catch the fluorescent color, cause it really looks fantastic irl... they almost give light so bright!
Space was tight, but we found 2 small spots where we can/could route it trough, tomorrow well mock it up and have it welded next week... i wont be driving this as a daily but just for fun, it might be loud as f*ck as well Shit i cant get them good on the camera... done with trying with 2 boostpipes almost finished And also bought a FPR with some nice AN fittings, wich will go nicely with the rest
07-04-2013, 10:03 AM
i promise you this... you will not regret the screamer pipe!
07-04-2013, 10:25 AM
Only when the wastegate's open fella. Take it easy with your right foot and all shall be bon.
I want a screamer pipe for the estate. Right out the bonnet, with a flapper on it, so when the wg opens it'll go "WAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" like a choo choo train. |
