My door seals are knacekred so i'm pretty sure the constant moisture and non working heaters should help it rust!
But yeah, sounds like a plan. Shitty rusty interior ftw!
Hmm now what for the door cards...

the vw boys use saltwater baths to achieve the rust they so crave (not that it needs any encouragement on old vdubs anyway)
but yeah, soak bits you want to rust in saltwater for a few days till it rusts then rinse off and lacquer to stop it rusting into dust

Apparently beer gives different colours of rust too?
Turns out there's galvanised still on the wing which had made some, erm, interesting patterns?

Is there nothing in the MOT about having a safe dash which wont cut your head open when you smash into it?

Needs blood splatters on the bonnet. From where the zombies get in your way, trip to the local butchers and get some intestines. Throw at the car. Remove chunks and lacquer the f*ck out of it

OFT AYE! Hmm.. yeah definitely needs something but i have an a-bar coming soon, so that might be the order of the day.
Plenty done today, got too distracted by wiring though and didn't actually change the clutch cable pics up when I can be arsed x

Ok, got some pics uploaded now.
First of all, i was supposed to have been sorting the clutch cable. Got a bit bored and distracted and instead went and grabbed myself a relay to wire up and fit the roof mounted spot lamps. They've been wired with help from the "fogs with main beam" but instead of a diode and feeding into the fog light circuit, the relay is instead earthed, so when the full beams are flicked on the spot lamps come on too. They've been wired in with an on/off toggle switch on the dash so not issues with Mr MOT.
Also wired up the hazard beacons, again just feeding from a live (permanent one this time) behind the dash and to a toggle switch.
I actually hate wiring though, PITA compared to some other jobs but oh well, all done now, especially now my little clock/temp gauge/voltmeter is wired in, replacing the crappy standard clock. Not sure how accurate temperature is on it, but voltmeter shows 14.2V with the engine running which is pretty normal. Handy thing to have to spot a failed alternator/battery
Right, pics, no particular order, but there's a few of the rust that is getting along nicely too. I'll hopefully sort the clutch cable tomorrow. Maybe...

I was thinking of getting some headlight protectors and painting the stripes on, like the spot lamps?
I have an A-bar coming next week too so hopefully can bodge that on..

That's not a bad idea though, would mean I don't need bracing of any kind as I can rivet plates over the original dash, and wouldn't be any hassle having to relocate wiring etc
Metal that's .5mm comes in rolls in tins. You use it to shim gaps to make it tighter. Or copper sheeting if your feeling rich
