So had this for about two-three weeks now was going to keep it a secret but when you are loading your car to the brim with 3 door parts it's a bitch.
So this is the car when I got it.
Was full of rubbish and stuff as it was just going to get scrapped.
This is the car after I spent half a day remove said rubbish and what was left of the interior.
So far to date the car owes me.
£20 car
£20 rear lights
£60 fuel yesterday
Free gti interior, though just realised I don't have the rear quarter cards.
£50 blue carpet.
£50 black trim and side skirts.
£200 total.
This is the stuff to fit in the car.
Plans: thinks will move a little slower now as I don't have a job again lol.
But flock dash, and centre consoles, and ABC trim.
Then re shell my car into this one.
How it stands as of yesterday evening.
Anyone idea's.

This looks very familiar mark
Wish you all the best with it - my suggestion would be to enter PPC £999 with this - you've already got a base for an awesome price!

then work to a budget? You've still got the dturbo?
Get some budget springs from Kris? rear end dropped, the whole idea is to keep it under £1k. A straight line race and a slalom course - DO IT

Haha. When have I ever worked to a budget.
The whole point of this is to get rid of my leaking, creaking car and try and build a car using this shell and my car.

Yea, til it starts raining again. Its the crappy sun roofs.
I have had this car for over 6 years now, time for a change, but still keeping the awesomeness of my car and maybe in the future improving on it.

looks good...keep going till the end, it will all be worth it...
doing it steady and on a budget allows for flexibility and makes it even more worthwhile when finished!

I will be using from my car.
Bonnet.
Slam panel
Lights
Bumper
Wings
Tailgate
Rear bumper
Rear axle
Then we will be dropping the subframe, and roling out the engine, front suspension, and everthing else, to fit in the new car. nce thats in place, we will strip the interior of my current car, use all the loom and then fit the flocked dash and all m front interior part.
In the future, I want to get my front and rear seats into the nw car, but that can wait if needs be.
Then I will been to get the doors and rear quarters welded up to match the smoothed frong wings. Then get the roof, doors and rear quarters wrapped to match all the parts of my car.
Only things that should be left on my old car is the doors, glass and carpet.
This was aimed to be completed by my birthday in April, but might need to take a bit more time on that.

So started work on the car late this morning.
First cleaned out all the bolts and bits, fitted the rear carpet and bench.
Then removed the dash for that to be flocked.
Then fitted the front carpet, had to cut it so the fuel catch latch fits.
Then put the front seat in place but not bolted down.
What to paint the engine bay next, but was watching vids about plasti dipping last night and I really want to use that, but not sure on what colour I want to do the engine bay.

3 doors FTW!
Nice one Mark, will look much better in 3-door form. There's something about the shape of a 3-door (rear C-pillar) which makes them better-looking than a 5-door equivalent, IMO.
Would have wet-vac'd that carpet before it went in though, personally...

Forgot I fitted the lights on Monday.
Dash is now in my car for delivery to the flock shop.
Dash, headliner, lower console, floor console and might get the roof handles done, ABC pillars, although they are already black so depends on cost.

Me either, need to make a work on the body work. Smoothing the roof and doors.
What's the best way to do this, as the doors are different. Last time I got a company to weld them closed, but they could get in from the inside.
Looks to me like there is not enough room do to this on the 3 door.

Access inside the door skin might make that really hard thinking about it. The holes near the front would be doable but....
Can you not do it with the door off from the front?

Why get it welded? If youre wrapping it, the vinyl will cover the holes
