tempted to get rid of the car but with the amount of money ive spent i think i should keep it so will see what happens with the clutch see if it beds it self back in agin like it did before to me.

There's a guy on tdoc with one of the uprated sachs berlingo ones, although he's got it on an actual berlingo lol. Pretty sure he's got a Stage 2.5 2.0 HDi under there and it's holding fine to the best of my knowledge...

no wasnt sliping then, it only slips when it feels like it, some times its fine some times it slips....... nothing much will be happening with it for a while now might save up for a clutch, or save the money to get a d turbo no idea what im gona do with it tbh really getting on my tits now lol

By the sounds of it all it needs is a good clutch and it'll be great to drive. If you were to sell it and get a Dturbo you'd possibly inherit a few problems that the Dturbo has. Better off fixing the one problem with this car? Looks like a good amount of work has gone into it, be a shame to sell it.

The reason i fancy a d turbo is the fact of running on veg and i could save a fair amount of money, but like you say every car has there problems, and this car there is only one left and thats the clutch all the other hard work has been done....... i dont think anything will be happening soon i will try and get saveing and decied when ive got £300 weather i buy a d turbo with that money or sort a clutch out.....

Would you make a decent saving running veg? The hdi goes a hundred or so miles further on a tank doesn't it? I ran veg for a while and while it saves you money I didn't find it was worth the hassle, unless your going on a long journey then its worth it.

This ^^^ Veg stopped really benefiting me when i stopped doing a half hour commute every day. Was horribly inefficient when cold and took a while to warm, not much less than ten minutes, which is my new commute lol.

Im not getting amazing mpg from this car im a delivery driver at night so doing around 500miles a week, my mpg last time i filled up (before i put the 140bhp map on) was 44mpg and that was with a 200mile round trip to blackpool and back, i think this fill up im going to be looking around 450mile from full to the brim to when the fuel light just comes on 100miles less than i got last week..... i dont no if its my job that cause's the poor mpg or the mileage of the car?? when i was haveing cutting out issues with the car garage did a leak of test on the injectors and they come back fine so not sure what else could be cause my poor mpg??

It's your mods for sure. My HDi is approaching the quarter million mark and still does 51MPG on a mixed tank of stage 1, though I do long journeys often.

I was only getting 42mpg before all the mods so went up by 2mpg last fill up (on the stage 1 map), defo down this time tho think I will be around 38mpg maybe but I am now on the stage 1.5/2 map, but I have been giveing it a bit of stick seeing what it can do

Maybe there's a fuel leak or something? I thought hdi drivers got 600 + out of a tank

It's the job and/or driving style mate, diesels don't like stop-start journeys, you'd be better off with a small capacity petrol if you're doing something like pizza deliveries.

No offence C2K, but that's really not right. The mods will only improve mpg on a diesel as you're making the engine more efficient, so only kill the mpg if you drive her hard.

I have put it down to the deliverys stop start all the time tbh if i can keep it over 40mpg im happy, i used my gf's 1.2 petrol for a while and i only got 35mpg so was worst off, best car i had was the 106 1.5d i got 52mpg on deliverys with that! was amazing on fuel, i was under the understanding that mods will up my mpg because im hardly pressing the pedal to make it move..... might look out for a 1.5 d agin and have the hdi as a second car

Hahaha yes, get yourself a 106 nad! I used to drive mine with my foot welded to the floor and it still never slipped below 60mpg. Think we need to start a nad-appreciation society on here you know...

If you drive a modded derv hard, you'll use more fuel as it makes more power and therefore has the capacity to burn more fuel.

However, drive it smoothly and economically and you'll get better MPG than the standard engine would have, as it's more efficient.

Ball park figure for my stage 2 is about 42-44. And I drive it like it should be. If I fit my sensible head on a mixed run, I can see damn near 60. I've never worked out what I get purely motorway driving, as there's not enough road in the UK to use a tank up, unless you do some country road driving, and can never be arsed to fill up until the light comes on!

I used to deliver at night mostly round town. When it was 90bhp good behaviour would see me around 42-43mpg (bearing in mind car was service every 8k). Then with stage 1 map it would be about 44-45.
If I hooned it with stage 1 I'd see around 40-42 mpg. But this is figures for nothing but town driving.

Bit of an update been to pick clutch and cable of kent, so now got that ready, been looking in to have a setup like dave (mr whippy) had on his with the sachs paddle with vealo pressure plate, I rang euro car parts apprently they can get the paddle plate for £165+vat I gave them the part number for the one dave used so should be right on but im going to go in and look at picture to confirm it as seems extreamly cheap, any way had my tyres fitted turned out one of my wheels is buckeled had to use 285gram of wheel weight Undecided so on the look out for a new alloy now

Thanks given by:
Been to euro car parts to day the sachs plate is the right one it works out just under £200 so think im going to try and save up for that if i can mange to save up enough money bring on the full toque :-P

Not much to update with this at min, apart from its all falling to bits lol i have a boost leak some were, i was in the process of trying to sort it when my boost gauge diced to pack up and only read minus 14psi. So im now looking for another boost gauge once thats sorted i hopefully will be able to sort out the boost leak. Im still saving up for the sachs paddle plate hopefully 2 weeks and i should have it, soon the better as clutch is really bad now struggling to go over quarter of throttle in 3rd or above. But all should start coming together hopefully before Christmas. Other than that not much else to say really just got a couple of pics from today as sis washed car for me (well my nephew did it for pocket money) but sis did most of it lol.
