I've just been out to double check mine, which is still standard set-up, but no I wouldn't say they are lower at the back.
The Old_______and_______Slight Less Old
Yeah they do genraly tend to be stanced backwards mate
I.E back lower than the front

Well, really it depends on how low the front is

Yes they tend to be lower at the back, a 40mm front drop and standard rear looks nice on them.

The only reason I can think for this is that the same beam is used as the hatch...but obviously the estate rear weighs more!
I think they sits well at the back tbh, shame the front looks daft!!

Bear in mind the estate rear hangs out further than the hatch too, so the weight has a greater moment in relation to the pivotal point of the trailing arm, hence them being lower.

Thanks for all the answers I'm just glad I ain't got abproblem with mine tbh never thought bout the extra weight and length being to blame lol

Dont worry, they look even stupider with 400L of compost in the back and a fat mate on the tow ball.
