is my top mount bent?
#1
My spring snapped so changed it, ever since it's been making a dragging/nocking noise going from lock to lock, dead top mount type noise. Just got around to changing it and noticed witness marks on the mount where it's clearly been hitting. I've not paid much attention to the shape before and not willing to dissembles the other side to compare, doesn't his look bent?

its difficult to tell. I reckon you would need a good one to compare it to. Could just replace for piece of mind however they arent that cheap from peugeot and extremely difficult to find online!

Whipped the other side out and even swapped top mounts (metal part) over and it's still fouling on the inside of tunnel. Weirdest thing.

Is the left shock on the left and the right on the right? thats the only thing i can think of. That would change the spring position which would change the angle of the top metal part. Are you using proper rubber top mounts and bearings? Could be a spacing issue there if you arent?

All those things have crossed my mind, had both struts out and compared and they are on the correct side, I've not previously had both out at the same time so can't have mixed them up, also it was fine before the spring snapped! Investigations ongoing.
