did you had winter diesel in? maybe fuel filter has gelled?
29-01-2015, 01:53 PM
winter diesel?! its +5 c here, uk doesn't do winter stuff.
need a part number? http://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/ and http://service.citroen.com/ will sort you out.

ok, my fault, thaught maybe you have same problems in winter as I do!
29-01-2015, 06:12 PM
They do use different additives in winter fuel here as well... But it wont get cold enough to notice any problems with the summer stuff tbh.
I'm confused what the question is in this thread though?

Has any1 seen this happen and the dowel looks to be a press in fit

Still don't entirely know what you're talking about tbh, what dowel? As Cully says, take some pics.

I thought winter diesel was automatically released form the refineries before cold weather starts......can remember seeing on the news some years ago with lorry drivers making fires under their tanks ( fuel tanks rather than tigers, metal tanks in them days ) to "ungel" or unwax the fuel, as it had gelled or waxed due to the cold and snow etc..
did you see the tv program about diesel cars the other night??
31-01-2015, 01:56 AM
There is only 1 dowell for the fuel return on high pressure pump
31-01-2015, 10:17 AM
fuel return on the hd pump....
I wonder if the fuel return pipe on the hd pump is pressed in.......( dowel ? ) if so, the return fuel pressure must be quite high to push it out...... blockage or restriction in the return line somewhere?? is the "under car fuel cooling rad" been squashed perhaps.... is your pug lowered and grounding on sleeping policemen? interesting as I'm still a tyro with these cars.

Doug, it really would help if you posted a pic. I've never seen a HP pump break yet.
31-01-2015, 11:54 AM
There's no dowels on these pumps at all, plus the fuel pressure reg is on the side, not the top.
LNot being funny mate, but nobody understands what you're talking about, repeating it isn't going to help. Best way will be to get some pictures of what you're talking about or learn the proper terminology so we're all on the same page.

Are the fuel return pipes on these held on with just a jubilee clip? Or a banjo? If its just push fit, then i think the bit the pipe slips onto is broken, or thats the only thing i can think of from whats been said lol
01-02-2015, 12:13 AM
I have fixed it now i cannot upload pics as fone will not let me im sayin dowel but it a brass coloured metal pipe the rubber fuel lines goes on to there is only the 1 sorry if not greatly explained i went to a engineer local who made me new 1 and it press fits into high pressure pump
01-02-2015, 12:12 PM
Fair enough, not sure i would have got there by myself lol. Glad you got it sorted and thanks for updating, never heard of that happening before. Any idea what caused it?
07-02-2015, 07:37 PM
