Some I got my car... Amongst other problems....
The brake pad warning light illuminates when the brake pedal is pressed, although sometimes in various brightness's, asif it's not getting proper power.
Electrics aren't my speciality shall we say... I'm fecking useless with them haha.
Will it just be a loose connection or a bad earth or something? Just find it weird it only happens when the pedal is pressed.
Any help would be appreciated.

^ quite obvious mate it comes on when the surface has faded to a set minimum level. If you believe there's plenty of meat on the pads just disconnect the brake pad sensor (most 306's sensors didn't work anyway [emoji23])

Should it not be on all the time or just when pedals pressed? And if it was needing new pads I would of done that before posting this post...

Its just a metal contact in the pad and when you brake, it earths its self through the disc bringing the light on. You may find you have a iffy pad with a wear sensor in the wrong place...or you need new pads...

or a lip on the disc, which probably means you need new discs.
brake pad light came on in my bmw a few months ago, pads looked fine, just had a fair lip.
next time I was doing work on the suspension I had the discs off so I knocked the lip off, checked the thickness and they measured 18mm...
they started at 22 and minimum was 20mm....

Slight lip on disk! Never actually thought about how they work haha... Simple minded when it comes to mechanics.
