Hi all,
I'm interested in converting my D turbo to bolts for the inlet manifold instead of the standard studs and nuts. Could someone please specify the bolt sizes I would need. I know the studs are different sizes and I don't want to buy them the length of the stock studs as the nut obviously threads down so thus the bolt wouldn't need to be that long.
If anyone could specify length that would be appreciated. :-)

Good luck, all I remember from doing mine is that the two outer studs are an awkward 2.5cm increment that no one sells.

I've had 3 XUD engines and all have been bolts. They were all earlier ones mind.

DON'T USE BOLTS!
There's a reason they swapped from bolts to studs!!!!
When you wind them in and you tighten them, they are pulling on relatively weak aluminium, which destroys the threads, if you try and tighten a bolt, you'll usually end up pulling the threads out the cylinder head... With a stud you have a MUCH slimmer chance of pulling the threads out the head...
You'll NEVER get a manifold to seal properly with bolts, I've tried, you just end up wrecking the head...
Anything past D8B is usually studded, it's D8As that aren't normally... DHY, DHX, D8B are studded AFAIK...

Thanks very much Ruan, point taken I'll stick with studs mate.
