was wondering if anyone has heard of a mod that you can do to the firmware so the red part of the power light can be used as a hdd activity light as my 1545 doesn't have an activity light

Interesting, i assume you've tried googling?
I'm not sure how you go about this, if the motherboard isnt reporting HDD activity you'll find it hard to get the data, i'm guessing its a custom bios or something? I'd be warey putting something like that on.

er... do you really want a HDD light that badly? Id leave it and wouldnt risk bricking it for something that minor!

iv never heard of this mod to be honest mate and i work on quite a few of these, i agree it would be nice to see activity BUT i doubt you would be able to make the power light act as a indicator.
