Same with everything though, you will get faults. You don't find jaguar/Aston martin dealers closing because there's no cars breaking down?!
I've had problems with my apple products though and I must say, the service is the best I've ever experienced.
Also, initial outlay is expensive but after that it's not too bad. When I upgraded the os to lion last year, it cost 15 quid.
Last time I upgraded a windows computer, it cost best part of 100 quid!

As said Apple build quality isn't all that great, my girlfriends macbook had to be sent away twice in a year because of hardware faults and all the plastic around the edge cracked. Just admit you are paying over the odds because of the logo on the front...
