Suppose to be a quick rack, worse than the gti6. But can be done.

Well worth it but make sure you get a rack from a PH1 VTS. The PH2 is .2 of a turn more...doesnt sound a lot but does make a difference!
So i tell the missus anyway

ment to essentially be a quick rack no? depending how many less turns to turns it is id say it deffo worth it

Thanks lads, would it make the steering heavier and put more strain on the components and tyres due to the VTS having higher gearing and a different turn to turn?

Phase 1 VTS rack will go straight on. To fit a Phase 2 VTS, you'll need the PAS pipes too as they're unique to the rack.
I have one of each in my garage, plus the 2.4 manual rack on the 205. I would've fitted the Ph2 rack to my 306 during the overhaul but I lent the pipes to Paul_13 for his 205 and I'm not sure I can be arsed to fit it now.

If you're fitting them on a hdi you'll be able to get the pipes off a late xsara hdi, same fitment apparently.
What I'm planning on doing with a ph2 Vts rack on the hdi. Do you want me to get you a set of those pipes Alan?

As I said, I can't be arsed to fanny about with the HDi now, the 205 is begging to be worked on (that's getting the Ph1 VTS rack and electric pump setup).
