OEM discs and pads
#1
As above I've fitted generic pads and discs to the front of my hdi for a good 1k they were fine, now I have an awful more irritating squealing noise when breaking it's driving me mad, I've cleaned them up at least 3 times now and still the noise persists under braking has anyone got any solutions to stop this???

Thanks in advance

Try a little copper slip on the BACK of the pads if you haven't already.

as above;
but first , file a chamfer on all 4 edges of the friction material that touches the disc, only about 2mm--but enough to remove the sharp edges. (will stop sharp edge touching disc to start the squeal)
then put copperslip on rear of pads were they will touch the caliper (will help to deaden the squealing noises), also at the ends of the pads if they locate in the carrier, to stop seizing in place.

don't get the copperslip on the friction material !!

Ive had cheap pads with hardspots in the friction material, just waited till they wore past it and were then ok
