What temp. should my engine be running at?
#1
hi there people, just wanted a few opinions here thanks.... I was just wandering what temperature the 1.9 d turbos should be running at... while driving mine normally without thrashing it or booting it up it sits at about 80 then after a bit of foot for a while it goes up to 90 sometimes. ( halfway mark ) not so sure what it should be any info would be much apretiated.. thanks lyle!lollol

sounds spot on.
sitting in traffic i occationsally shoot up above 90.
i tend to keep the engine between 80 and 90; manual fans help keep this temp ThumbsUp

Try to avoid going over 90*c. That's HG failure territory.
Current Car: Lexus CT200h 1.8 138, 2013, 19,500 miles
Previous Car: VW Passat 2.0 TDi 140, 2005, 136,000 miles
Previous Car: Peugeot 306 XLdt (stock!), 150,000 miles (I miss this car Sad)

errm... not necessarily.
Sitting over 100/110 is probably more the likely for HG issues if that.

Sitting at 90/95/99 isnt THAT bad, by which point the fans should kick in.
