In all fairness it's not too tappy. I've heard it's a feature of the ph4 that the cambelts were left loose from the factory resulting in tapping after a few miles.

That's not injector ticking, because you can hear it only on a few valves...

I know...it's fooked. I was scared to rev it. Made some funky noises when you held it at revs.

Though saying that, it could be a f*cked tappet in fairness... It's not a metallic enough noise IMO for it to be a proper tapper...

Ed needs to get his old engine in, it was a sweet engine in fairness, it pulled the best of any '6 I've been in for standard...

The most annoying thing about this thread is I can't watch the video at work, so assumed it was a video of my car's engine. This made me majorly panicked after reading Ruan's comments.

I had to breathe into a paper back for 1 minute. True Story.

Ruan, it's hard to tell exactly, but I'm pretty sure the new one pulls just as well. It deffos needs an oil and filters change, and I'll be able to give it hell a lot more once the cooler's been fitted too.

Either way, that's why I'm keeping my spare engine; it was a known good un, and I fully plan on doing something mad with it over the course of next year! ninja
