Correct type of thermostat?
#1
Folks,

Changing my rad and was going to put a new stat in at the same time. Have had a look at the one in there, and it looks different to the one I've been supplied (by TMS based on my reg plate). The new one has a longer 'tube' and a wee spring loaded disc at the end, the original one does not. I think the new one is  'bypass' type and the one in there I guess isn't. The car is a 97 Ph2 Dturbo, and the date code on the current stat is 04 97 so I guess it could be the original one.

Am I correct in thinking the one I have been given is wrong?

Cheers
Craig

If youre changing the stat seriously go genuine. Aftermarket ones are crap in my experience. For the sake of a few quid more. Gget a pic up and we can see if it looks right
